Imbizo Yethu Foundation
087-467-NPO
Imbizo Yethu Foundation is a non profitable organization providing for :
- development of 50 children between the ages of 2 years and 18 years;
- accommodation, caring and education for the children that have reached the age of 18 and are absorbed in the open labour market to maintain themselves.
The aim of Imbizo Yethu Foundation is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote:
- development to their full potential;
- pro-social friendships and strong interpersonal skills
- hope for the future, with good morals and integrity.
Only through committed interaction can a sense of individual responsibility be re-established that will give the children the commitment to follow through to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
The aim of this project is also to eventually cater for children that have been placed at Imbizo Yethu and once they have reached the ages of 18 years, to only remain at the Academy until they have completed a qualification that will enable them to be absorbed in the open labour market.
Imbizo Yethu aims at creating a caring, inclusive learning environment that will promote the children’s’ best effort and will lead to them acquiring personal respect.
The goal of the project is to give children a well based upbringing where they will be equipped and skilled to have a smooth transition into adulthood and to offer a positive support system to avoid pitfalls that can derail their lives. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goal remains to empower the child to maintain a positive life that will make him/her a part of a functional society.
